Our language programme moves children organically from learning basic vocabulary and speaking to letters and patterns of letters and then to reading and writing words. Each of these stages immerses the children in what they learn. For example, each letter is traced and pronounced allowing the child to see, feel and hear the letter.

The teaching of reading and writing forms the basis of the language area. Children begin with pre-language exercises such as matching, classifying and sequencing and then move into the learning of phonetic sounds. Three levels of reading prepare the child to read at the non-phonetic level. Grammar studies are offered to advanced language.
